State Rep. Mark Buesgens, R-Jordan, wrote a letter to the editor to the Brainerd Dispatch, criticizing a DFLer and fellow member of the Minnesota House of Representatives for voting in favor of a gas-tax increase.

The relay team of Pedro Velasco, Yuriy Malashenko, Ted Thuening, and Jensen Orlow did it again.
Those four teamed up to break the 3,200-meter relay record by 10 seconds in the home meet on Tuesday, April 22. The record was broken just two weeks ago. This time, the relay finished in 9:00.73.
The Jordan Hubmen baseball team had a week to sit and stew about the three-game losing streak they suffered a week.
They took out their frustrations on conference rival Belle Plaine on Monday by sweeping a doubleheader.
The Jordan girls golf team remained in second place in the Minnesota River Conference after finishing second at the Holy Family tournament on Monday afternoon.
The girls shot a 209 to finish second behind Holy Family’s 189.
The Jordan baseball and softball games against Sibley East that were scheduled for Thursday, May 1 have been moved to today, Wednesday, April 30.
The Hubmen baseball team will play a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. at the Mini Met.
The Jaguar softball team will play one game beginning at 5 p.m. at home.
Thirty years ago, Mary Pauly finished first in the creative expression category at the state high school speech competition. Ken and Kevin Baldwin, Michelle Kes, and Ken Lehnen also contributed to the team's second-place finish.
