Nine days after Ryan Sauer went missing, a landowner found Sauer lying dead near his crashed Jeep Grand Cherokee. He was 24.

More than a week after Ryan Sauer went missing, the 24-year-old’s body was found lying next to his vehicle at the bottom of a gravel pit at 10:04 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 near County Road 66 and Beaumont Boulevard in St. Lawrence Township, police said.

In general, the month of January is an excellent time to view bald eagles along the Mississippi River. These birds are abundant from Hastings all the way to the Iowa border. And trumpeter swans can be seen at Mississippi Drive Park in Monticello. At the time of this report, there were 1,200 swans, with numbers to potentially increase to 1,500.

A BARROW'S GOLDENEYE is still being seen on the Mississippi River near Pt. Douglas, in Washington County, as is an adult male HARLEQUIN DUCK.

Heather Anna (Helget) and Thomas John Jaszczak were married Dec. 31, 2007, in Hudson, Wis.
A reception will be held in Darfur on June 7, 2008.
The parents of the bride are Eldon and Linda Helget of Jordan, and the parents of the groom are Charles Kellogg and Josephine Jaszczak-Kellogg of Hammond, Wis.
The matron of honor was Mel Bowman of Hammond, Wis.
The best man was Chad Bowman.
Officiating the ceremony was judge Tim Heckman.

Ryan Sauer, 24, of Prior Lake, died as a result of a car accident.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, from 2-6 p.m. at Ballard-Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Street S.E., Prior Lake, and also one hour prior to the service at church on Monday.
