If the Coleman-Franken contest has told us anything, it's that every vote does matter. This morning Franken's unofficial lead was 49 votes. Forty-nine. That's less people than most have as friends on Facebook or MySpace, if they have an account.

I find it surprising that as a nation, we Americans spend so much time obsessing over Santa Claus. It's a fact; the guy's got us in his sack, wrapped up neatly and tied with a bow.
A few people have talked about how irrational our love for the jolly big fellow is; who really wants a gray-haired old man crawling down the chimney into their homes, where small children are asleep? Better yet, who would encourage those small children so much that they creep out of bed at night just to catch a glimpse of the stranger?
If you could double the length of your natural life without adverse health effects, would you? Why?

Steven C. Warner, 62, of Prior Lake, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at his home.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 1, from 5-7 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Sreet S.E., Prior Lake. There also will be visitation at the church one hour prior to services.
