MANKATO, Minn. — On July 14, for the second year in a row, the MRCI Foundation is bringing the thrill of go-kart racing to Mankato to assist its effort to raise funds to perpetuate the mission of MRCI (Mankato Rehabilitation Center, Inc.) WorkSource, which is to create innovative and genuine opportunities for people with disabilities or disadvantages to support their community participation. MRCI Foundation is partnering with Pro-KART Racing (www.prokartindoor.com) to bring 300 drivers to the MRCI parking lot and grounds (15 Map Dr.) as they seek community support for their second annual MRCI Foundation Grand Prix.
The racing format will provide a way for everyone to have a little fun while helping people with disabilities. Even novice drivers will feel very comfortable in the all-day Grand Prix where drivers from sponsored teams compete in a multi heat elimination tournament until only one team receives the final checkered flag at the end of the day.
MRCI Foundation is accepting sponsor registration forms for the Grand Prix, which are due Friday, June 15. For more information, to volunteer, or to register a team of five drivers, go to www.mrcifoundation.org, or contact Jennifer Hlubek at 507-386-5604 or jhlubek@mrciworksource.org.
